Thirty days. A made-to-order bridal lehenga from us takes thirty days from the day you place the order to the day it is ready, and that includes two fittings.
It is shorter than most brides expect, and there is a straightforward reason for it.
Why thirty days
We manufacture our lehengas ourselves, in our own atelier in Delhi.
Most designer labels design in one place and get the work done somewhere else. The delay in that arrangement is rarely the embroidery. It is waiting — for the karigar to be free, for the piece to come back, for a correction to go out again. Those weeks add up and they belong to someone else's queue.
Our workroom is ours. When an order comes in, the timeline is ours to hold.
What the thirty days look like
The order. You choose the piece, the colour, the neckline, the embroidery.
Two to three days to change your mind. Nothing has been cut yet, so almost everything is still open. Colour, embroidery, neckline. If you have genuinely changed your mind, we can change the outfit itself.
The making. Most of the month. How long it takes depends on how heavy the embroidery is.
First fitting. The lehenga goes on you and alterations are marked.
Second fitting. Alterations are checked on you, the piece is finished, and it goes out.
Two fittings, not five. I say that because the number of trips to the store is the thing brides consistently underestimate, and each one is a day out of your calendar in a month when you do not have many to spare.
What thirty days does not cover
Thirty days is to ready, not to your wedding.
If the lehenga is being couriered rather than collected, add that time. If you are marrying outside Delhi, count backwards from the day you need it in your hands at the venue, not from the ceremony.
You also have to be free for two fittings, both in Delhi. For brides who are working, or living in another city, that is usually the real constraint — not us.
And wedding season is busier than the rest of the year. If your date falls between October and February, confirm your delivery date with us when you order rather than assuming it.
When you should actually order
Thirty days is the floor. It is not the target.
Give yourself eight to ten weeks and the whole thing settles. The fittings fit around your life instead of being squeezed in. You can change the neckline in the first week without anyone panicking. If something needs a second look at the final fitting, there is room to look at it again.
Brides who order at exactly thirty days do get their lehenga. They simply spend the last fortnight watching the calendar.
If the wedding is in three weeks
Come and talk to us before you decide it is too late.
We keep bridal pieces in the store. A piece that already exists and needs alterations only is a completely different timeline from one being made from scratch, and for a lot of brides who thought they had run out of time, that is the answer.
